Dear All
The winter competitions have been immensely popular – CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL CONCERNED!!!
We have run into problems by not having enough time between the last competitions and the presentation of the prizes to the League winners – TOMORROW AT 12.35p.m.!!!
We have ties in two sections and have not announced how such ties are to be split (we didn’t foresee them coming). SO-----I HAVE MADE AN EXECUTIVE DECISIONS AS CHAIRMAN as follows:
If combination has done 5th competition that result is looked at and used to split tie. If two or more people have the same points from 4 or less competitions then they are given the same placing.
I will see as many of the prizewinners as can make it tomorrow at Bicton – keep your fingers crossed that we have 200 miles of traffic jam free travel!

What a lovely story, Cagney is a rescue pony from world horse welfare and returned yesterday to compete at the R-Stor Winter Series competition

World Horse Welfare Penny Farm

Penny Farm received its first multiple welfare case back in 2004 - a group of semi feral ponies from East Lancashire. When they arrived four of the mares were in foal and.Starsky & Hutch and Cagney & Lacey were born later that year.We were pleased to see Cagney return to the farm today to compete in a TREC competition with her rehomer ...and even more excited when she won her class!! Here she is a few days after she was born and showing off her rosette today!

RS-tor Winter League - Special Prizes.
Please note highest place will be awarded to the person with the most points scored regardless of the league.
We are delighted to announce that we have some special prizes for this year’s Winter League awards.
Email Jen at admin@trecgb to regisiter before 29th March.
1. Veteran – Highest placed horse or pony over the age of 15. Sponsored by the Veteran Horse Society.
2. Dartmoor Hill Pony – Highest placed Dartmoor pony to be bred & born on the moors. Sponsored by the Dartmoor Hill Pony Association.
3. Registered Fell Pony – For the highest placed Fell Pony, the rider must also be registered with the Fell Pony Society. Sponsored by the Fell Pony Society.
4. Junior – Highest placed junior rider under 16 years old at the 1st October 2014. Sponsored by TREC South West.
5. ROR. Highest place Ex racehorse. Sponsored by ROR.
6. Morgan – Highest placed Morgan registered with the British Morgan Horse Society.
7. Coloured Cob – Highest placed Coloured Cob. Sponsored by Jacqui Kedward and Hadford Farm Stables....criteria to be confirmed.

GREAT NEWS!!

The Board would like to announce that the qualifying criteria for all Qualifying competitions for the Blue Chip 2015 GB Championships have been updated.
Riders will now have even more chances to Qualify!
Level 2, 3 and 4 classes at affiliated TREC GB competitions run by TREC GB member clubs will be qualifying classes, unless the organiser has opted out of qualifier status (in which case it will be clearly stated in the schedule). Classes at levels with an A or B suffix (such as Level 2A) will not be qualifying classes.
Closing date for entries to the Blue Chip GB Champs 2015 will be 3rd August 2015. Qualifiers held after this date will be for 2016 Championships.
The qualification criteria for the Blue Chip TREC GB Championships 2015 of Great Britain are as follows:
For classes with up to 10 individuals/pairs, competitors placed 1st to 4th will qualify. For classes with 11 or more individuals/pairs, competitors placed 1st to 6th will qualify.
For 2015, Qualification will NOW roll down below the places quoted above. There will be no lower limit to this new rule
In order to be eligible for qualification, riders must be Red tier or Blue tier members of TREC GB before the competition at which they achieve a placing as detailed above. In the case of a pair, both riders must be TREC GB members before the competition.

Example - GREAT FARM COMPETITION - 7 starters
1st place George (TREC GB member - not already qualified)
2nd place Fred (TREC GB member - already qualified)
3rd place Bill (non member)
4th place Henry (TREC GB member - not already qualified)
5th place Chris (TREC GB member - already qualified)
6th place Richard (TREC GB member -not already qualified)
7th place Tom (TREC GB member -not already qualified)

Under the New Ruling
George, Henry, Richard & Tom
would now ALL qualify for the TREC GB National Championships for 2015.

Easter Egg – citement!


TREC SOUTHWEST would like to invite you to their Easter weekend of TREC at Bicton Arena, Yettington – East Devon.

Wave “goodbye” to winter with the TSW Winter Championships with classes open to anyone who has been placed 1st-6th in any of the RS Tor winter classes this year. (We will also reserve some wild card entries – depending on numbers who want to come – so if you haven’t qualified but would like to take part please let us know and we will get back to you)

The following day there will be the first TREC of the summer – a slightly different take on the traditional POR but with the MA and PTV set in the glorious Bicton Park.

On site permanent stabling, toilets, showers and catering – free overnight stays for the humans …what more could you ask for. This promises to be a great weekend for everyone – please come and join the fun – we are not THAT far away (!) Bicton is 15 minutes from the M5 at Exter and offers great riding on the nearby Woodbury Common.

Hilary Barnard and Sue Lee – both international riders – are your Traceurs (people who design the POR) and Hilary is also the TD (Technical Delegate – ie person in charge!) The classes are suitable for EVERYONE and do not require the horses to be overly fit given the time of year.

The RS Tor winter series is hotting up with just two months left to gain points and move up the leader board.

TREC GB are pleased to announce more “special” prizes to be awarded within the RS Tor leagues this year. If your equine partner falls into one of the following categories please contact Jenn to make sure that you do not miss out.

RoR – highest placed ex racehorse

Veteran Horse Society – equines over 15 years

Dartmoor Hill Pony Association

Fell Pony Society - Riders must be current members of the FPS and show Jenn a copy of your card.

British Morgan Society

Native Coloured Cob – prize kindly donated by Hafod Farm Stables

Best Junior Rider – Riders not to have attained their 16th birthday before 1.10.14 – rosette donated by TREC SOUTHWEST.

If any club, or individual, would like to donate any other special prize then please contact us.

The mounted presentation of the RS Tor league and “Special” prizes will be made at the TREC SOUTH WEST championship event on April 4th 2015 - but don’t worry if you can’t make it we will forward it on to you.

Wishing you all the success in the remaining RS Tor competitions.

Looking forward it is hoped that we can form strong bonds with our partners and that during the summer we may be able to offer TREC classes as part of their championship shows…..watch this space!
