Thanks to Sarah and Jenni and all the helpers at Bulcote TREC today, possibly the coldest outdoor TREC I can ever remember and I did not envy the poor judges! Huge thanks to all of you. We had a fabulous time at Ruby's first full TREC. She found the POR quite exciting to start with but soon got the idea that other horses would be up ahead of her and she didn't need to catch them all! We both finished relaxed and happy which was the main objective for today, this really is a brilliant educational sport for a young horse. I love it!!

After four competitions the final placings in the first WHTG Winter league have been decided. Marie Spillane and former racehorse Price of Love dominated the individual section throughout the season, with Alex Wells and her own Thoroughbred mare Toffee taking reserve champion. Native ponies filled the next two places, with Kathryn Bean on Highland pony Tower Harry just heading Kirsty Collinson on her Fell Lummas Oscar. [ 73 more words. ]

Save the date! 10 May 2015 Tracey Dillon XC training, Willoughby Lodge Farm LE12 6TE. Multiple sessions for different levels and cost is £25 per person. It is arena xc on a huge surface and there is a water complex, ditches, steps, banks, and arena xc fences. Tracey is a BE accredited trainer. Booking form will be available next week.

With the results now added from the Derby College Arena TREC competition, we are three quarters of the way through the WHTG Winter League season. Marie Spillane and Prince of Love are leading the Individual class closely followed by Alex Sales and Kirsty Collinson. Excellent news for our younger members! WHTG currently holds a small amount of funding reserved specifically for young riders, and the committee have decided to offer this on a per-event basis for riders under 21 to receive funding for TREC training. The aim is to support young riders to rise through the levels and ultimately be skilled enough to compete internationally at Young Rider championships if they want to. [ 349 more words. ]
