TREC Orienteering Weekend

This is a great way to develop map skills and build your confidence navigating the trail!

Friday 5/29 6:00 PM Cookout and Un-Mounted Maps Session

We will provide a few main course options, paper goods and soft drinks.
Please bring a dish to add to the party! Maps provided. Please bring a compass.
$20 Members / $25 Non-Members / $10 Youth

Saturday 5/30 9:00 AM Orienteering Trail Ride

Participants will have the option to ride out with instructors or - if you are feeling confident, venture out alone or in small groups. Speeds and check points will be posted on the trail for those who wish to keep their times. Timecards and maps provided. Bring a compass if you have one!
$30 Members / $40 Non-Members / $15 Youth

Sunday 5/31 OPEN Self-Guided Trail Ride

(Alternate maps provided to Saturday participants)
$10 Day fee to Chadbourne Farm (NA if you are staying as a guest at the farm).

Accommodations are available for horses and riders at Chadbourne Farm. Please make reservations for accommodations directly with Sandra at 910-696-0239 www.chadbournefarm.com

NOTE: Trailers may use back entrance to Chadbourne Farm.

Join us in enjoying a fun day at beautiful Horseshoe Farm learning about TREC. TREC is an international trail riding sport that tests the full range of abilities of the horse and rider partnership. It involves navigating both mounted and dismounted obstacles, and accurately guiding and controlling the horse. In addition, TREC participants learn how to use a map and compass to follow a course in unknown territory.

TREC Skills Building Clinic: Introduction to Equitation and Jumping

Riders and auditors will participate in a clinic designed to explain equitation and gymnastics for horses and riders to learn how to ride over fences and to teach their horses to jump or to improve jumping skills. Riders will leave the clinic with suggestions for equitation and gymnastic exercises that can be continued at home.

Open to Members of USNETO / TREC-USA. Please RSVP as space is limited.
